started one of the four new, large paintings that will be in the show. so far, i'm thinking that they'll be more painterly like this, (-maybe not as thick, with their components stuck in their places). instead, i want them to be 'washed with movement'. there will be wispy, subtle hue variation and splashes of dark, densely saturated color. juxtaposition of the serene with the aggressive and eerie are a running theme that's present in most of my paintings... nice and creepy, thats how we like it! haha. probably comes from my (literally), lifelong fascination with alice and wonderland and stories like it (whimsical and sweet mixed with the strange and sometimes, foreboding ). sugary paint/eerie marks
