just started a new lil experiment today... okay, so I've always loved this red painting but its proportions have also always bothered me a little bit, (I either have wanted the falling, large red area to be lower in some places or higher..). Anyways, I think adding a second part on top of the painting could get rid of this problem ("problem" in my mind, i guess), and make it overall, a more arresting piece. the new, smaller second painting is exactly one half the size of the original red, so ultimately, will be a third of it, (which also, will help calm my craziness in way of a nice feeling proportion :) ) it'll look better in the show, too
anyways, those first two images above are just the first times I've begun this painting, which will need to worked up in a lot of layers, like I used to paint. hooraw! dont fall asleep on me yet! oh yes my pet, there is more
the blue one is coming around! it'll be put in the front of the show across from the other large, red one that also looks like the paint is being washed and blown around.. (the one called, "fruit punch")
