alrighty, so what ive been doing lately with oil paintings is finishing some commissions aaand going back and re-doing some paintings i made quickly this past winter. my style right now is going from a mostly monochromatic color field thats been scratched into, to a more "painterly" mixing of the same color palettes i used before. i love dark, rich hues like blackish maroon, crimson and deep blue with pastels and neons. painting the sinews and curves alone now without the thick top layers of one color is pushing me right now to study the spatial and color relationships a lot more. at least for now. i did this painting on the left in 2007 and the one on the right this summer.
