I got accepted into an art festival outside Austin in a few weeks, Art Outside :

* * * The Sugary Paint show went swimmingly!!!

First show down! Sold just one piece but that's alright, what really counts this first time is that now I have a large solo show in my artist resume; that's going to help me now with submitting my work to more and more galleries and shows! :) and it was a lot of fun and I learned so much this first time around. Both of my husband and my families were able to come, it was so great :)

my little sister and i stayed up til 330 am the night before making all these cupcakes, it took so much longer than we'd thought; around 230 we were slowly icing cupcakes and were like "...what are we doing?" haha! the table looked so cute though! we also had the little old fashioned, glass dr pepper bottles and pink and red sherbet punch that people drank out of the random, vintage glasses (with the soda-shoppe type straws). oh and wine ha. yay! it all looked so good

haha sorry. i had to put this up, my husband and i were on a website called "doodle or die" last night forever, you make a random picture and then someone makes a caption explaining it, then you make a picture for that last caption...its so hilarious how the pictures and explanations of them change. the caption that i got was 'gun submerged in water'... well im quite proud of my picture! bahahahahahaha!!!

i found all these random and really pretty glasses (dessert cups, wine glasses, dainty glass coffee mugs..) at a thrift store that i always go to- i'm going to have them at my Sugary Paint reception at the dessert area my mom and i are setting up :) its going to be very hodge podge and cute. call me kitsch. whatever i couldnt help but have a dessert and candy display at an art show called sugary paint. im making baby cupcakes and some other desserts and my moms getting macaroons, etc.. i also bought a few candy dishes, or maybe they were fish bowls, but to hold gumballs, cotton candy, striped candy sticks, stuff like that. yay!


haha oh my goodness, look at how different little baby cole looks now. HAHA! i just looked down at the second picture i'd put up of him before hahahahahahaa! ..he kind of... looks sadistic and crazy. he looks like gollum crawling out of a hole with his arms like that. "i toOOld you she was tricksy, the ring will be OURS, once the hobbitses are DEAD!"...yep. hes a real creeper there, thank God i didnt bring that to the mother of this child and say oh here is your baby's portrait, i think its a real likeness, you can make the check payable to me. oh and i made his head waaaaAAy gigantic before. oh well at least i realized it, hes looking more like himself now, phew! -getting closer to finishing him- ill keep working on the scale of his body and smoothing out the color patches and then adding in his individual little touches and lines..

working a new baby portrait. the one right above seems a little harsh because im still laying down color areas that i'll keep building up and smoothing out into a truer representation of baby coleman :)


also, we had a fashion show at our anthro location and my friend kelsey photographed the event :) isnt she fab?!! it was a lot of fun and she put up a picture she took of me along with our other friends on her own blog! yip! i hope she can eventually work for anthro with her photography because she really is amazing:
